When I was a young girl, Saturdays and Sundays were spent watching baseball, basketball and football. Not ice hockey. Being raised in the South, I didn’t even know what hockey was! As far as I knew, it was something they played over in Europe. I never dreamed I would one day know, love, and be involved with hockey.
The “Smashville” experience is truly like no other! If you haven’t been to a Predators game yet, you simply must move it to the top of your to-do list. Preds fans are renowned in the hockey world for their support of the team and their energy in Bridgestone arena. Along with the wonderful entertainment during the games, not to mention the excitement down on the ice-overall, it’s an experience you just won’t find with any other NHL team.
Their sabre-tooth tiger mascot known as Gnash,is also beloved by all. This Pred-about-town, when not entertaining us in the rink, can be seen along with the players at area hospitals, street festivals, schools, charity events, even birthday parties, interacting with children and adults alike.
I am always so inspired by how this team of young players from various diverse countries and cultures have created such an amazing ability to work together. The Nashville Preds exude the very spirit of teamwork and community that is such a big part of what has endeared them to the hearts of their fans. Our team has a synergy that is powerful and addictive both on the ice and throughout the city and beyond.
And, in true Music City style, the team’s signature goal song comes from the hit tune of a beloved Nashville country music artist, Tim McGraw: I like it, I love it, I want some more of it. I try so hard, I can’t rise above it. Don’t know what it is ‘bout the Predators scoring, but I like it, I love it, I want some more of it. The words of this song truly parallel how people feel about this team and our city.
The Predators regularly draw resident celebrities to the games with crowds routinely comprised of families and fans of all ages. The management works hard to offer tickets in a variety of price points so that games are affordable for all. And if that’s not enough, there’s truly not a bad seat in the house!
With the Preds in the 2018 Stanley Cup playoffs, I can’t think of a better time to lift them up than now, and to offer them our hearty support and praise. But I am not alone in feeling this way as for the first time in franchise history, the Nashville Predators have SOLD OUT of their season tickets for the entire 2018-19 season! Talk about a Loyal Legion! In closing, I simply wish to say: Nashville Preds, we are behind you all the way!
