The Super Bowl may be seen as a distant memory by now, but chatter concerning a tie between Nashville and the NFL is being heard in various corners of our town and beyond.
Those of you newer to our area may be interested to learn that the media has been reporting National Football League decision makers are seriously considering Music City as a possible site for the annual draft! The announcement is rumored to be finalized in May of this year, and would take place in 2019 or 2020.
When you take a look st the other locations being considered, this is quite an honor. The list is said to include the likes of Cleveland/Canton, Kansas City, Denver and Las Vegas. What a thrill to see our town now named in the same league with these great cities! As a matter of fact, Nashville has been finding itself of late among the top choices for many sporting organizations looking for cities to host their major events.
For example, this past January, the NCAA included Music City on the list of potential host destinations for the Women's Final Four from 2021 through 2024, and, last fall we were named one of 32 sites being considered for the 2026 World Cup. We also celebrated recently Nashville being awarded a National Soccer League team.
For those of us who have called this beloved town our home for the past decade or more, we can honestly say this type of news is no longer as much of a surprise as it was perhaps even ten years ago. It is, however, lately becoming more and more our new normal. And the momentum just seems to keep building!
Residents continue to bask in this new-found fame and all the benefits that come with it.
If you're considering relocating to Nashville, we would simply ask, "What are you waiting for?" There’s no better time than the present; these are exciting days in Music City, USA!
We invite you to come share the joy and, of course, we'd love to call you “neighbor” very soon.
